About This Design
This quirky design -featuring four soldiers (Hoplites), wearing armor, holding spears & shields, and riding dolphins- is inspired by an ancient (archaic) Attic red-figure terracotta psykter (vase for cooling wine) of about – , attributed to Oltos. The psykters were used in symposiums, parties basically. So, you could use this wonderful mug for a party, too – after all, mugs can hold all sorts of liquids, not just tea or coffee!
