About This Design

Image Credit (M ): Antique image of St. Ivo of Kermartin from a late th century devotional print in gilt chromolithography, originally published by P. Duvernay, St. Etienne, France, from the designer’s private collection of religious ephemera. The text in French surrounding the saint’s portrait reads: “St. Yves Notre Tres Doux Patron et Defenseur / Priez Pour Nous” which translates “St. Ivo, Our Very Kind Patron and Defender, Pray for Us”. St. Ivo () is chiefly known for his pro bono work on behalf of orphans, unprotected widows, and the impoverished, which earned him the title ‘Advocate of the Poor’. He is patron saint of lawyers. + Feast: May
