About This Design
McMurdo Station is a United States research station located on the southern coast of Ross Island. During the austral summer the station has as many as 1, researchers, maintenance, support, etc. people working and living there. Any flights to South Pole Station stop at McMurdo to refuel. The station was established in and has been in continuous operation since then.
