Riders of the Sidhe, c. by John Duncan (). Duncan was a Scottish painter who focused on Celtic folklore and legends about King Arthur. The Sidhe were fairies, also known as Tuatha de Danann, in Irish and Scottish myths. th and early th Century Pre-Raphaelite paintings, engravings and art often had a medieval theme, focusing on topics of chivalry and romanticism.
