About This Design

This gorgeous teal (blue-green) and cream tulip pattern was designed by William Morris in the late s and printed on fabric in the early s. William Morris was a British textile designer, printer, artist, novelist, translator and socialist activist associated in the British Arts and Crafts Movement. He was influential in the revival of traditional British textile arts production. His work is also heavily associated with the Art Nouveau movement. A digital image of Morris’s work is made available through public domain open access, courtesy of the Chicago Institute of Art.
